We must say NO to robots in public spaces

As far as my eyes can see, everything is becoming automated. I watch as robots steadily take over spaces that were once meant exclusively for humans. From streets to plazas, from train stations to shopping centers — their presence is unstoppable.

Now is the time to reflect on what's happening to us, because the future of our children depends on the decisions we make today.

As I write this, we are already facing real and urgent problems

• Dozens of daily accidents caused by collisions with robots, especially affecting children and the elderly.
• Constant disruptions on streets and sidewalks, as their presence interferes with the natural flow of pedestrians.
• I see, from one day to the next and with alarming speed, the replacement of human jobs: delivery workers, guides, security staff, and customer service agents are being phased out. How did we allow this to happen?
• The near-total takeover of public spaces is no longer a forecast — it's a fact. Wherever I go, I see benches, parks, bus stations, and cafés now occupied by machines, pushing both people and animals aside.

This situation strongly reminds me of the well-documented phenomenon of invasive species. It follows the same pattern: a new, artificial presence displaces the natural one, slowly but completely.

If we don't act soon, we may end up retreating into our homes for good, surrendering the entirety of public life to entities that, after all, do not feel, do not empathize, and do not belong to our social fabric.

Let's defend our humanity now — or vanish forever.
